My Practice

The therapy model I work with is

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.

it is a very forward looking and positive therapy model, and is effective in treating many different problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, addictions, phobias, smoking, conception problems and many more issues that we can develop.

The therapy is confidential, please do not hesitate to enquire about any issue you may have, every client is treated with respect and compassion.

Our Treatment Focus

Our goal is to make permanent and lasting change. During your initial consultation, I will give you a simplified explanation on how the brain works, relating to what you want help with, which is hugely beneficial. In understanding why we develop problems, and learning what we can do to fix it, is the start of becoming well, and staying well and happy in the future, indeed for the rest of our lives.

Knowledge is power!

You will also be given a recording to listen to at home as part of your therapy.

In addition to the Hypnotherapy model I offer, which is all scientifically proven neuroscience based therapy, I also offer Reiki, which is an alternative energy healing therapy. For those clients who are open to trying this, I find it helps clients to heal on so many levels. My clients can choose to only have hypnotherapy, or only have reiki, or combine the two.

Everyone is welcome to come for treatments at my practice, you don't need to have a problem to book an appointment, we can all enjoy a lovely relaxing therapeutic time, self care is good for you, and after all, your happiness is your responsibility!

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply a state of altered consciousness, a state of focused attention. In this relaxed state, your mind is more responsive to suggestion. In a therapeutic setting, the suggestions are designed to be beneficial to help you change unhelpful thought patterns. Most clients say that they find it very pleasant, it is very relaxing, and sometimes clients feel as though they are sleeping, even though they are not, yet aware of what is going on around them. Hearing everything that is being said whilst in a deeply relaxed state. One could describe it as day-dreaming.

Unlike the image of Hypnosis which is repesented in movies and dramatic novels, Hypnosis does not involve the therapist taking control of your mind - no one can Hypnotise you against your will. And nobody can make you do anything that you do not want to do - your subconscious mind will simply reject any suggestion that is inappropriate for you. It is important to acknowledge that there is a vast difference between a Stage Hypnotist, who is an entertainer, and a professionally trained, registered Clinical Hypnotherapist!

We use a GSR meter to measure your anxiety levels, and more importantly, progress!

What is Psychotherapy?

There are many different types of psychotherapy, all of which aim to help people overcome anxiety, emotional problems and stress, by talking together to help clients overcome their difficulties. Psychotherapy is often referred to as 'talking treatment'. The type of Psychotherapy I practice, does not involve itself with analysing painful memories from the past, we acknowledge traumatic events of course, but research has shown that we do not need to re-live these events in ordr to heal, and therefore we can concentrate on focusing the mind on solutions for change, looking forward!
